Ultrasonic cleaning
for ship parts maintenance
At BRIO Ultrasonics we have over 35 years of experience in machines and installations for ship maintenance. We have specific solutions for the cleaning of naval parts and components, with standard and customized projects. We cover all the cleaning requirements of the sector, complying with the most demanding safety regulations.
Our exclusive technology achieves a total cleaning of the parts with a remarkable improvement in energy efficiency, longer life and shorter washing times compared to other systems. With lower consumption, BRIO machines achieve optimum results in very short times, providing great savings to naval maintenance workshops. Below we share with you an article from an expert publication on the naval industry ‘Buques y equipos de la Marina Civil’ in which our technology is highlighted.
BRIO ultrasonic cleaning in the naval industry performs a complete and deep cleaning that reaches all the complex points of the geometry of the parts. In this way, it is possible to eliminate calcareous encrustations, carbon deposits, oxides, grease, oils, and paint from components such as cylinder heads, exchangers, intercoolers, pistons, sleeves, valves and others. It is a contaminant-free process that also does not require labor during its execution, and whose design can be adapted to the size of any part, whether it is an intercooler or a cylinder head weighing 2 tons.
The four factors of BRIO ultrasonic cleaning are: ultrasonic vibration, cleaning fluid, temperature and working time. The cleaning fluid has a percentage of detergent that is essential for ultrasonic cleaning to be effective. At BRIO we have an in-house chemical department with extensive experience developing tailor-made solutions for each application. Our detergents are tested with our machines to always offer the highest cleaning quality, performance and durability. We have detergents to work with all types of metals, including carbon steel and cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium and copper, as well as plastics, rubber and other materials.
Our machines can be found in the main naval workshops in Spain and worldwide, such as those belonging to Coterena, Barloworld Finanzauto (Caterpillar), Tanaval, Servalci, Metalships Docks, Mecanasa and Astilleros Rías de Avilés. Internationally, we have machines installed in workshops of MWM-Caterpillar (Mannheim-Germany), West Sea (Viana do Castelo – Portugal) among others.
Expert publications in the naval maintenance sector have echoed our ultrasonic cleaning machines and their exclusive technology. We invite you to read the article dedicated to us by the magazine Buques y Equipos de la Marina Civil and the post we have prepared in English about it.

Tailor-made solutions
For naval parts cleaning and maintenance
At BRIO ultrasonics we have experience in treating all types of parts in the naval industry, but there are some that stand out for needing a solution to a specific problem. Some of them are the following:
Engine block – Naval industry
The engine blocks must be in a perfect state for reassembling all engine components after cleaning and maintenance. In addition to accumulations of grease, carbon etc., iron engine blocks can also rust. Our ultrasonic cleaning system achieves a total degreasing and decarbonisation of the part, recovering it 100%. In addition, our machines completely remove corrosion, rust and paint to leave the iron clean and ready for repainting.
Cooling circuit and heat exchanger
The heat exchangers have a tubular element with holes through which the salt water circulates and which is responsible for cooling. These long and thin holes, together with the rest of the salt water circuit, end up getting blocked due to incrustations or the salinity itself. It can also happen that undesirable elements are deposited in the cooling circuit such as: balanides, crustaceans, molluscs, oxide, calcium, slime and any mineral deposit. Our ultrasonic cleaning system completely removes all these impurities and incrustations.
Plate chillers – Naval industry
The high heat flow through the plate walls can be significantly reduced by the formation of various types of sediment on the wall surface. Our system quickly and efficiently removes all the accumulations, completely recovering all the plates.
